Membership Policy

Last updated: January 2026

1. Eligibility

Membership is open to Indian students currently enrolled at, or having graduated from, a recognised higher-education institution in Albania. Alumni may apply for Alumni membership.

2. Membership Period

Membership runs per academic year (for example, 2026–2027). Members are required to renew annually to maintain active status.

3. Membership Types

  • General Member — any approved student who has applied through the standard process.
  • Committee Member — a General Member appointed by the executive committee to a specific committee role (President, Secretary, Treasurer, etc.).
  • Alumni — former members who have graduated and wish to remain connected.

4. Application and Approval

Applications are submitted through the online form. Each application is reviewed by the executive committee. Approval is at the committee's discretion. Upon approval, a unique Member ID is assigned in the format ISA-AL-YY-NNNN.

5. Digital Membership Card

Every approved member receives a digital membership card bearing their Member ID and a QR code for verification. The card is for community identification and event access only. It is not a government-issued identity document and must not be presented as one.

6. Member Responsibilities

All members are expected to:

  • Behave respectfully toward fellow members and the community
  • Represent ISA Albania and India with integrity
  • Comply with Albanian law and their university's regulations
  • Provide accurate information during application and renewal
  • Not misuse the membership card or its QR verification

7. Committee Roles

Committee roles are assigned by the executive committee. Each specific role (President, Vice President, Secretary, etc.) may have a capacity limit set by the committee. Multiple Executive Members may serve concurrently.

8. Suspension and Revocation

Membership may be suspended or revoked by the executive committee in cases including (but not limited to) misconduct, falsified information, non-compliance with the association's rules, or misuse of the membership card.

When a membership is revoked, the member's public verification page will display the status REVOKED. Reinstatement may be requested through the executive committee.

9. Renewal and Expiry

Memberships expire at the end of the academic year. Renewal is available at the beginning of each academic year. Expired memberships display the status EXPIRED on the verification page until renewed.

10. Withdrawal

A member may withdraw from the association at any time by contacting the executive committee. Upon request, personal data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
